John Milton, Areopagitica

The opening paragraph of John Milton.

The traditional liberal argument for free speech is now under fire from several directions.

Critics from the left, the center, and the right find simplistic the claim that unregulated
expression promotes the search for truth, the project of self-government, the autonomy of
individuals, or the control of concentrated power. Even if free speech does serve these
values to a considerable degree, there are costs associated with liberty, costs the critics
say are not sufficiently recognized or valorized in the standard liberal accounts.

Weekend.

Started on a Friday as Windsor where I did an exercise at work about by personality. Apparently I am of a green colour. One, that likes to work for the common good, is trustworthy gets one very well with people, with excellent communicator but is an introvert at heart. I wished I had more of the "blue" colour which is a person that is analytical, but its something that I am working at. After a fine lunch at the Saville gardens I departed through the private roads of Windsor driving pass the Cartier polo venue, Royal Ascot to finally reach my destination at the "Go ape" in forest near by. This is where for the first time i was climbing up tall trees swinging down some metal wire in what appears to be combat like. I really enjoyed myself and I surprised that i overcame the heights. The weekend was spent studying a bit & skating! I did check out a night of some 2 step dustep-garage on the friday but i was just exhausted. Sunday was spent drinkig coffee, cleaning the house and skateboarding. There was this London design week around east london where I did check out this Norwegian furniture woodwork. Very impressive & definitely more eye catching than Ikea!!!
